If I’d known that Kerry Howard was going to be taking photos of us, I might have gotten out the main. This was the day that we lost our engine. I was spending a fair amount of time below with my head in the bilge, so we were sailing under jib alone to make things easy for Ginny to steer. Well that, and easier for me to be upside down in the bilge! Sailing in Alaska is beautiful! We get so used to looking at the scenery here that I have to admit that I was a bit shocked when I saw the photos. Those mountains should be full of snow, but aren’t. But that’s beside the point. They look great in the background.
